Program Management
I am very pleased with the quality of education provided through the various PMP courses that we have here at SPC. We set the bar high so that our students can complete globally. Dr. Coronel attends PMI chapter meetings to keep a pulse on the industry for current trend, changes and benefits. Dr. Coronel is also interested in finding career opportunities for students that need an entry level position to get their foot in the door.
Student Mentoring
Dr. Coronel believes in giving back to the community, its students and all those that are actively engaged in academic self-improvement. Some areas of development include class support and interpretation using examples for real-life application while other areas of support include student dissertations supported: planning, narrowing topic, building a supportive structure and environment creating a step-by step process that guides students toward their goals without wasting unnecessary time and resources. Student also reviews the benefits of pursuing their certificate for project management.
Mentoring PMP adjuncts
Dr. Coronel is working toward her PGMP (advanced PMP). She is very passionate about her work and the quality of PMP adjuncts that bring real-life projects into academics while satisfying business needs. Dr. Coronel coaches PMP’s to work through conflict resolution in the academic environment including the university culture, procedures, and methods so that together a solutions is found that helps the PMP and the students succeed.
PhD Mentor
As a PhD mentor Dr. Coronel is very supportive to students that undergo the process of pursuing higher education while working full-time, and caring for a family. As a former student she recalls the stress, lack of sleep and in some instances lack of family support. Dr. Coronel learned from her experience and made it her goal to be the supportive person that the students can depend on for support and encouragement. It is important that students are equipped with tools of success so that they have an understanding and can easily complete the needed task to reach each milestone.
.
As a full-time professor Dr. Coronel truly understands the need to keep the program rigorous so that students can handle any situation in the work force (we are competing globally).
Change and Innovation
Change and Innovation has become the norm in many businesses. Those that do not re-visit their strategy are at risk against those that are consistently improving their strategy, and thriving to become industry leaders. As innovators we continue to pursue the unknown, and prepare to make mistakes along the way. If mistakes are made we learn, and continue to move forward.
