Terry Byrd has his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Florida, where he majored in Criminology. He received an Associate of Arts degree from St. Petersburg Junior College. Mr. Byrd was a career employee with the Clearwater Police Department, where he served 21 years and retired in 1991 at the rank of lieutenant. He was assigned to the Patrol Division, the Communications Division, and Special Operations, which included SWAT, Canine, Community Relations, School Resource and Neighborhood Watch rogram. He was hired at the SPC Criminal Justice Institute in 1991, and is currently a Program Director responsible for Correction, Intoxilyzer 500 training, Radar, Animal Control Training, and Law Enforcement Specialized/Advanced Training. In addition, he is a Firearms Instructor.
