I have over 40 years of experience in clinical dental hygiene and over 25 years of experience in dental hygiene education. I have been involved in teaching health service administration courses online at St. Petersburg College since 2010. Prior to that, I served for 15 years as the Dental Health Department Chair, Dental Hygiene Program Director and Professor of Dental Health at the Community College of Rhode Island. Some of the courses I taught were Periodontics, Clinical Dental Hygiene, and Community Dental Health.
I have promoted dental hygiene education for many years through my work as an examination writer and accreditation site visitor. Some of my committee work includes:
ADA National Board Dental Hygiene Examination Test Construction Committee (15 years)
ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation (12 years)
Outside of the classroom, my interests include yoga, biking, paddle boarding, traveling and knitting.
