I am a 1983 graduate of The University of Georgia, College Of Veterinary Medicine. I practiced small animal medicine and surgery on Florida's west coast for 20 years and have a special interest in exotic pets including parrots, ferrets, rabbits, reptiles and the assorted pocket pets. Our practice in Florida was a 3 doctor/5 CVT hospital with a 60% avian/exotic pet caseload. In 1993, I became board certified in Avian practice by The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and recertified in 2002. I have an 21-year-old daughter named Kiana, two cats, one Rhode Island red and 3 Barred Rock laying hens and a dog, Chica (who is on the front of my kayak in the photo). My hobbies include boating, rollerblading, fishing, gardening and cooking. In 2003 we moved back to Cape Cod, Massachusettts where I was born and enjoy experiencing the New England seasons. I currently work at a dog/cat practice, occasionally volunteer at The Cape Wildlife Center and teach this SPC online class. I really love teaching on-line and have found the students to be above average. I look forward to the sharing of knowledge that occurs with each new class.
