I have been employed by many upper level colleges, universities, and public school districts since 1997.  My experiences in education, which started as a substitute teacher, encompass many diverse backgrounds, ages, and academic levels.  In addition to my chosen career as a fulltime college professor, I also have obtained experiences in other areas such as an Adjunct Professor, tutor for adults in higher education, and personal training.
I was trained and mentored as a special educator at the University of South Florida, served on numerous site-based and district level committees, and I have studied and received post graduate degrees from USF and Nova Southeastern University.  In the past, I was nominated as Rookie Teacher of the Year and Special Education Teacher of the Year.  I was also awarded the distinguished Ida S. Baker Award at Chamberlain High School as well as serve as a mentor and role model for many students within each of the past schools and communities of my principalships.
As a program manager and college professor, my philosophy on education is that as educators, we are responsible for the development of productive citizens, teaching students to become capable of utilizing critical thinking skills and exposing them to the necessary tools and training to become successful in their chosen programs of study.  To achieve these goals, programs for students, teachers, and administrators must be developed, implemented, and updated to reflect current educational trends and philosophies.
