Workforce SMART Tech Programs Interest & Application Survey

Thank you for your interest in St. Petersburg College Workforce SMART Tech programs at Midtown. Funded by a Florida Job Growth grant through the Florida Department of Commerce, these programs prepare students for careers in Advanced Manufacturing.

Participants in SPC's Workforce SMART Tech programs at Midtown will receive a scholarship for full tuition, books, and materials related to the selected training of their choice.

To be addmitted into the program, you must provide proof of having recieved your High School Diploma or GED equivelent, be at least 18 years of age, and be able to read, write, and comprehend English. 

Please review the information on each Workforce SMART Tech program below:

Electronic Board Assembly Operator Program: 253 contact hours
Includes instruction in Soldering, with graduates receiving certifications in OSHA 10, Soldering A-610, J-STD-001, J-STD-001S, and OFD Prevention. Graduates of the program may be employed as Electronics Assemblers, Soldering Technicians, or Assembly Technicians.

Robotics and Semiconductor Technician Program: 616 contact hours
Includes instruction in Mechatronics and Smart Factory Foundations, with graduates receiving five certifications issued by the Smart Automation Certification Alliance, OSHA 10, and the training required to become certified through the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies in Fluid Power, Mechanical Components, and Industrial Electricity. Graduates of the program may be employed as Robotics Technicians, Mechatronics Technicians, Process Technicians, or Field Service Technicians.

Automated Production Technician Program: 500 contact hours
Includes instruction in Automation Technology and CNC Machining, with graduates receiving a certification for OSHA 10, and training required to become certified through NIMS in CNC Milling and Mill operation. Graduates of the program may be employed as Production Technicians, Machinists, or Industrial Automation Specialists.

Our industry-recognized certifications and credentials give you strong, marketable skills and may also count towards college credit in specific degrees at SPC.
