Request for Online PERT (Beginning Fall 2025-current)

To determine if you are ready to enroll in college level courses, SPC uses your test scores to determine placement. If you do not have qualifying SAT, ACT, CLT or PSAT scores, or the scores are more than two years old, you should register for the PERT.


To register for the PERT, you must have applied to the college and have an SPC Student ID number. These are issued after you have submitted your application.


If you have not submitted your application, exit this form and go to our homepage: www.spcollege.edu and select Apply Now.  After receiving your SPC Student ID number, you may then return to this form to submit your request to take the PERT.

There is a $15.00 fee to retake the exam. Contact the Business Office to make payment and you will need to provide a copy of your receipt prior to taking the test.

Prcotorio Proctoring agreement

When you opt to take the PERT remotely, please be aware your exam will be proctored via Proctorio. Proctorio is a recorded and automated proctoring service using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Prior to beginning the test, you will be asked to complete a room scan using your webcam.The purpose of the room scan is to ensure your testing area is free of any items prohibited from use during the test (e.g. scratch paper, calculators). Additionally, your webcam will record you during the test.

St Petersburg College has an obligation to ensure the integrity of the online testing as it does for the physical locations where tests are administered. All testing information is protected under the same guidelines as your personal and academic information.

If you wish to take the PERT remotely, please indicate your consent to the use of Proctorio for proctoring. If you do not consent, please select the option to take the PERT on-campus.

A testing professional at the campus you have selected will enroll you in our remote PERT testing platform. They will contact you when this complete and  provide additional instructions on taking the PERT remotely with Honorlock proctoring.

Room Scan Requirements


Before your exam begins, you must complete a full room scan. The room scan allows Testing Services to verify that your testing area is free of unauthorized materials and devices.
 

Your room scan must clearly show that you do not have any of the following within reach:

  • Phones
  • Smart watches or smart glasses
  • Tablets, computers, or other electronic devices
  • Paper notes
  • Calculators (unless approved for your exam)
  • Earbuds or headphones
  • AI assistants (such as Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant)
  • Any other person in the room

 

Your room scan must include:

  • Your entire workstation
  • The area in front of, behind, beside, and underneath your workstation
  • The front of your computer or laptop
  • Your ears (to verify no earbuds are being worn)
  • Your wrists (to verify no smart watches are being worn)

 

If you do not complete a full room scan or we are unable to verify that your testing area meets these requirements, your exam scores will be invalidated, and you will be required to pay the applicable retest fee before testing again.
