I was born and raised in Germany, where my mother and 2 younger sisters still reside. In January 2009 my Doberman Mix Filou and I jumped the “big pond” and moved to Saint Petersburg, FL.

In 2014 I graduated with My Bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology- Advanced Clinical Applications from St. Petersburg College.
In 2015 I additionally completed the Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management from SPCollege.

My career in Veterinary Technology/ Nursing began in 2010. During my career I have held positions as Lead Technician and Office Manager in small animal practices, as well as obtained experience in Veterinary Emergency/Critical Care, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology at a specialty hospital in Tampa.

In 2016 I accepted a position with the University of South Florida as a Laboratory Animal Research Technician/ Veterinary Technician in Biomedical Research for Comparative Medicine. I still work as a Biological Scientist with the University.

In 2019 I received the opportunity to assist with the education of future Veterinary Nurses in Laboratory Animal Medicine.

I obtained my certification as a Veterinary Technician through the FVTA in 2012, and in 2018 obtained my Registration as a Laboratory Animal Technologist with AALAS.

On a personal level, my husband Thomas and I live in Saint Petersburg with our 3 dogs: Filou a Doberman mix, Miel a Golden Retriever, and Finnius a Pit Bull mix, as well as our cat Butters. We are active fostering dogs with various rescue organizations in the St. Petersburg area, and enjoy traveling.
