I graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1979, and  from The University of Pittsburgh with a Master of Science in chemistry in 1982. I received my Master of Art's in Education from the University of San Francisco in 2010. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida International University.

For twenty-seven years I was a Criminalist for four different crime laboratories. My experience includes crime scene investigation, clandestine laboratory investigation, instruction of new criminalists in controlled substance analysis, and instruction of police officers in field examination of controlled substances and breath alcohol instrumentation. My laboratory experience includes analysis of controlled substances, clandestine laboratory evidence, blood alcohol samples, arson evidence, trace evidence, and firearms.

After I graduated from West Virginia University, I was employed as a synthetic chemist for Revlon Health Care Group and I created 27 novel chemicals for use as high blood pressure medicine. I have published two articles in peer reviewed periodicals.

I believe that the path one choses to explore is the true teacher for any individual. My goal as a teacher is to guide students through their experiences in chemistry with the incite of a person who has made that journey.

I like to feel that I am a well rounded individual who likes to combine physical and mental challenges. I enjoy weightlifting, swimming, bicycling, but I also like doing my daily sudoku, crossword and cryptoquip. I enjoy reading and exhausting myself with my three grandchildren. My wife and I presentlylive in Wesley Chapel and hope to move to Tarpon Springs soon
