I began working in a Funeral Home in Vienna, Missouri, (My home town) in June 1986. The owner of the funeral home is a family friend and offered me a part-time job. While there, I was assistant to the county coroner and worked in all aspects of funeral service, including working funerals, making transfers of remains, working visitations, being the OSHA coordinator, washing cars, mowing lawns, doing landscaping, and cleaning the funeral home. From there I moved to Southern Indiana, where I worked for Garr Funeral Home and Seabrook, Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Home as an intern and then as a licensed Funeral Director. I moved to Florida to teach in the Funeral Services program in January of 1997. Currently, my wife, Lisa, and I reside in Tampa, with our son - Joshua, and Lisa's cat - "Chilly".
