Dr. Hoare earned her bachelor's degree at Regis University in Denver, CO. During her years teaching various science subjects including Integrated Science and Chemistry in Belize, she reconnected with her earliest passion, the MesoAmerican Barrier Reef. She then pursued graduate studies in Marine Science and earned her Ph.D at the University of South Florida College of Marine Science, specializing in coastal biogeochemistry. Dr. Hoare's research interests center on human influences on the health and dynamics of the coastal marine environment.
