I am a native Spanish speaker. I was born in Cuba and immigrated to Chicago with my parents and siblings. It was an experience I will never forget. Moving to such a big city allowed me to come in contact with people from all over the world. I learned about different cultures, foods and languages.

I am a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Accounting. Knowing Spanish allowed me to differentiate myself withing the business world. I spoke to people in other Spanish speaking countries. Because of the knowledge of another language, I was an assett to my employer.

In 1990 I moved to Pinellas County and later attended The University of south Florida, obtaining a Master's Degree in Spanish Literature and Education.  I worked as an Adjucnt Professor at USF for a year. Then joining Pinellas County Schools as a Spanish teacher.

My main goal as a teacher is to inspire and encourage my students to grow and continue learning. I make my lessons relevant and engaging. I believe communication is key to life.
