Timothy Chavous
Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Coach Tim Chavous graduated from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a minor in recreation. He earned his master’s degree in education from Virginia State University in 2012. Throughout his 20-year college football coaching career, Tim Chavous always supported his student-athletes with their academics, serving as their Academic Advisor. This experience paved the way for an easy transition to working as a Career and Academic Advisor in higher education after his coaching career. After reaching the highest levels in coaching by serving as a head coach at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, he found it easy to leave his football career in 2020, stating, “I was at the top of the chain. I fulfilled every dream I had coming out of college.” Now, Coach Tim Chavous has moved back to his hometown of St. Petersburg, FL, to continue his successful journey as a Career and Academic Advisor at St. Petersburg College Downtown Campus.
