Mac Williams is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served for 25 years. During his tenure in the military Mac was a member of the Department of Defenses’ Race Relations Instructor team where he was responsible for training over 10,000 personnel on subjects ranging from interracial communications to affirmative actions processing. He was also First Sergeant with the 1st Infantry Division and the 1st Military Police Company during Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Sergeant Major during Operation Restore Democracy in Port Au Prince Haiti. Upon his retirement in 1995, Mac has been uniquely involved in the 5000 Role Model Program of Excellence with the Pinellas County School System where he mentors young at-risk African American males. He also, while working with a local police department, provided crime prevention training to an eclectic audience. During his tenure with the police department, Mac was invited to become part of the training staff of the Regional Community Policing Institute where provided training in community policing to police departments throughout the State of Florida. He also published an article for the Community Policing Magazine on Youth Development in 1999. Mr. Williams is also an Adjunct Instructor for St. Petersburg College’s Human Services Division.  Mac has been an instructor for the B.E.S.T. Initiative of the Pinellas County Juvenile Welfare Board. Mac is also a past member of the Board of Governor’s for the African American Chamber of Commerce for Central Florida. Currently, Mac is the Safety Manager for Charter/Spectrum Networks. Mac earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York and his Masters’ of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Metropolitan University. Mac has been married for the past 46 years to the former Miss Colleen Crockett of Tarpon Springs and they have two daughters, Kristina and Kirstie
