Ms. Stecher (she/her) holds a Master of Arts degree in Bioethics. She is an alumnus of St. Petersburg College, earning an AA on the way to her B.A in political science from USF.  Her professional experience includes more than fifteen years in clinical research focusing on the responsible conduct of research. It was during the pursuit of her graduate degree that she discovered her love of the classroom and the desire to teach. As a result Ms. Stecher earned a certificate in college teaching from the University of South Florida. She prefers the Socratic method of instruction and enjoys helping students on their voyages of discovery.

During her academic career, her teaching portfolio has included courses in moral philosophy, introduction to philosophy, the responsible conduct of research, and social media in medicine. In addition, she has facilitated programs in the responsible conduct of research for clinical researchers in the Tampa Bay area. She has tutored students in both the metacognitive process and has helped students with SAT/ACT preparation.

Outside the classroom, her interests include reading, traveling and, like most Floridians,a great afternoon on or near the water. She has a rescued dog  named Galileo and one "grand-puppy", her son’s dog, Eve. She enjoys a good college football game, especially if USF is playing. A life member of the USF Alumni Association, she has held season tickets to the USF home football games for over twelve years. She has been known to root for her son's alma mater, FSU, as well.
