A graduate of St. Petersburg Jr. College, I continued on to receive a B.A. in Language & Literature/Education from the University of South Florida, a M.A. in Arts & Letters/Education from the University of South Florida and a Certificate of Community College Executive Leadership from the University of Florida. My career began as a high school English teacher for Pinellas County schools. Twelve years later, I decided it was time to move on to a new challenge, and I began teaching Composition and literature classes for SPC Clearwater campus. In the year 2000, I made the move to the Seminole campus teaching Composition, literature and film history.
During eight of my years at the Seminole Campus, I served as the Seminole/eCampus Academic Chair for Communications . However, because of my love for the classroom, I decided to return as a full-time professor.
My philosophy is for students to be active participants in the learning process and to take away skills which will serve them throughout their academic careers and beyond!
