Hi and welcome to your online learning adventure. You are making a great step to success in your professional nursing career by working on obtaining your BSN from an exceptional college like SPC. SPC is a very well respected college in the community and provides for a great nursing education.

I come to you from the Pittsburgh, PA area. I moved to the Tampa, FL area in January 2013 due to family needs that I needed to help with. I am married to my wife Lauren. Lauren and I have been together since 2001. We love going to Disney World, spending time with our two dogs (Jazzie and Skyler), going to concerts, riding our Jet Ski in the Gulf of Mexico, and flying our Piper Cherokee 4 seater airplane. We also like swimming and hiking / walking with the dogs.

My educational background consists of the following: graduated from a Hospital Based RN Diploma program in Pittsburgh, PA; obtained my BSN from the University of Phoenix, and my Master's in Nursing Education from La Roche College in Pittsburgh, PA. I am certified as a pediatric nurse (CPN) and wrote national certification test questions for the Pediatric Board through PNCB. I am a BLS instructor and current on PALS, BLS, and ACLS.

My nursing work history is very diverse. I started off my entire nursing career as an ER nurse in a trauma, stroke, and open heart hospital. I then transitioned into Pediatric Nursing which is a true passion of mine. I worked in various pediatric settings (PICU, LTAC, PPEC, Home Health, and Hem / Onc.) as a staff nurse and as a director and administrator. I also worked at a community college with ADN Nursing Students at the Children's Hospital and Hospital. I have worked in staff development and education as well. Currently my FT job is as the Director of Clinical Education at a healthcare organization.

Once again, welcome on your long journey that will surely have bumps in the road but the light at the end of the tunnel is very bright and offers many opportunities for you professionally.
