I attended Alabama State University located in Montgomery, Alabama. From Alabama State I earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree in English and a Masters of Secondary English Education. I later earned a Ph.D. from Barry University in Higher Education Administration and Leadership.

Presently I am conducting research involving sociocultural issues . Beyond my academic pursuits I enjoy writing both fiction and nonfiction. I have six published works. I aspire to research and write histories as an extension of my appreciation for both reading and writing.

I have taught English for thirty four years in the Tampa Bay area with one, guiding philosophy which I encouraged among my students: Value education and recognize its importance to every facet of life.
