Dr. Liao-Troth joined St. Petersburg College in 2020 as Vice President for Academic Affairs, overseeing the academic mission of the College across all disciplines, degrees, and programs. He previously served as senior vice president and provost at Hawai‘i Pacific University, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Georgia College & State University, Dean of the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business at Georgia College & State University, and a variety of academic leadership positions at Western Washington University including department chair and Faculty Senate President. Dr. Liao-Troth is professor emeritus at Western Washington University, and previously servered on the faculty of DePaul University in Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Liao-Troth earned his PhD in Management and his MS in Management & Policy from the University of Arizona, his MBA from San Diego State University, and his BA in American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His scholarship focuses on the relationship between individuals and organizations especially in the context of the non-profit sector; he has authored over three dozen published articles and edited the book Challenges in Volunteer Management, a volume widely used in graduate non-profit management degree programs.
