Welcome to my writing course, ENC1102.  This semester our course will focus on the universal concept of "story." My goal includes helping you  develop yourself as an academic writer -- and ultimately, as a strong writer in whatever capacity your future plans indicate. 

I'm a native of New York City, where I earned a BS in Education from Fordham University.  At Marquette University, I earned a Master's in Literature. Other graduate degrees include: Creative  Writing from Wesleyan University, a Master's in Education at Columbia University, NY and a doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University in Education and Social Policy.

In 1989 I moved to Florida, taught at Eckerd College's Writing Program and in Western Heritage.  Subsequently I managed a research study for the Florida Department of Education. For several years I worked for Pinellas County schools training teachers and supervising programs in adult education and teaching in the Educational Leadership Department  at the University of South Florida.

My views on educational issues have appeard in publications such as the American School Board Journal, Teacher Magazine and  the Journal of Staff Development, among others. Currently, I publish poetry and write both fiction and creative nonfiction. I received a Pushcart Prize nomination in 2016.

I live in Largo with my husband and our two dogs, a Plott's Hound and a Rottweiller. We sail on our catboat, the Tonia Too, where on the best of Florida days is a good place to read as well as appreciate the beauty of the gulf. Visit my website: www.antonialewandowski.com
