I am a naturalized citizen since I was born in the former Yugoslavia. Education was always an important component in my family. I grew up in Michigan and earned my bachelor’s degree at Wayne State University in Detroit. My husband and I moved to Florida in 1972 and I finished my master’s degree at the University of South Florida. I also hold Microsoft Office Specialist certificates for Word and PowerPoint.

While my husband was in the Air Force and stationed in Guam, I taught at one of the local high schools. Guam is a beautiful island with weather similar to Florida. Since moving to Florida we have had three sailboats and lived aboard our last 44-footer for almost four years. We had a fun time sailing and chartering in the Bahamas, Key West, and the Virgin Islands. We now own a house and enjoy gardening, cutting grass and pulling weeds!

I first taught at the Tarpon Springs Campus of SPC for thirteen years and joined the St. Pete/Gibbs faculty in 1989. In my many years at the College, I have taught keyboarding, shorthand, Business Math, Business Communications, Computer and Information Literacy, Microcomputer Applications, Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint.

I believe in the philosophy of Benjamin Franklin since it still applies today:

“If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.”
