Biography

I am the South County Chair of Applied Ethics.

I received my bachelor's degree in philosophy from The University of West Florida, and my Master's degree in philosophy from Western Michigan University.  I was also a PhD student at Michigan State University.  My area of focus (specialization) throughout was in meta-ethics and normative moral theory.  The former is the theory of moral language and metaphysics, and the latter attempts to spell out how we should conduct ourselves.

When not busy ruminating on humor, rationality, morality, and sports I spend time with my wife Rhonda, and too much time watching sports on TV.

Most former students would probably say that my class is both eye-opening and entertaining.  I firmly believe that philosophical education is a key to freedom, expands the mind, and is necessary for a good life.  While that all sounds serious, there's nothing to say that it can't be fun!
